Gold Coast racer Toby Price has hoisted himself back into the top five of the world's toughest off road race - the Dakar Rally - after Stage 6 overnight.
After posting fastest times through two of the day's waypoints, Price rode his KTM to third on the day behind Antoine Meo and event leader Kevin Benavides.
After spending most of 2017 off the bike due to complications to a broken leg suffered in last year's Dakar, Price's building momentum could be an ominous sign for his opponents.
Longreach rider Rodney Faggotter was 26th overnight, the Yamaha rider entering the event's mid-way rest day in 18th place.
