This weekend will see Gladstone come alive with the roar of
Junior riders from as far away as the Whitsundays, Theodore and Brisbane.
Well over 100 enthusiastic juniors riders from 5-16 years
have registered already to be a part of the Central Queensland Junior
Development clinic to be held at the Benaraby raceway in Gladstone this
Saturday and Sunday.
Friday will see a coaching clinic for budding coaches which
filled quickly with the added incentive of assisting on the Saturday and Sunday
to accrue hours.
The Coaching clinic - which will mirror the very successful
Yeppoon clinic of 2015 - has brought many clubs together contributing to make
it totally FREE to all junior riders.
It is fantastic to see Capricorn Dirt Riders, Curtis Coast
Trail Riders, Biloela Dirt Riders and Gladstone and District Dirt Riders clubs
working so closely for the future of the sport.
All have contributed financially which will see the children
coached and fed throughout the two day event, totally free of charge.
Coaches from throughout the Central Queensland area are
committing their time and travel to the cause and will be headed by Level 2
Motorcycling Queensland coach Mr Rod Jenner.
Demo riders and assistants will be on hand to guide and help
Any junior attending who has never held a Motorcycling
Queensland annual licence before will be offered the 3-month free recreational
licence attached to the Come and Try days whilst any Juniors requiring a
kickstart course to begin racing will be catered for.
