The Qld Supermoto Championship makes a welcome
return to the spiritual home of Supermoto as part of the Ricondi Supermoto of Champions at
Carnell Raceway in Stanthorpe on 10th and 11th March.
Carnell raceway is one of the longest-running supermoto venues in the country, and
technical nature of the circuit with its tricky
dual dirt sections always makes for exciting racing and
provides great viewing for spectators.
Racing starts at 10am on Saturday and continues
on Sunday with a full line up of championship
classes including the Ricondi Pro, Open, Clubman
and Veterans classes.
The MotoProducts.com.au Junior and Junior Lites classes give our younger and
braver competitors a chance to shine, and there’s even a non-competitive
trackday session for those riders who aren’t quite ready to tackle the cut and
thrust of racing but want to get on track.
Voight Contracting have brought some extra excitement
to the series with a new addition for this year, our top ten Open class
competitors will compete in a 1-lap superpole to determine their grid positions
for the race.
With over $6000 worth of cash and prizes
available from the generous event sponsors, it’s more
than just glory on the line for competitors!
The action begins with practice and qualifying
from 10am on Saturday, racing will start after lunch on Saturday and will
continue from 10am all day Sunday. The action won’t be just confined to racing:
Stunt Driver Corey Creed will be providing the
lunchtime entertainment in his Blue Whale drift ute,
and Hot Wheels Stunt team member, Ben ‘Nelso’
Nelson will be showing off on his supermoto stunt
