Watson Speaks on a Successful Airoh

Series Coordinator Jason Watson speaks at the end of a successful Airoh series:

"The 2018 Airoh series concluded last weekend at Tivoli, and again numbers held up strong.

Racing came down to the final stages in most classes and the champions crowned were often totally different to what people expected.

Junior and Senior numbers both held high throughout the series, giving high round totals compared to previous years.

All Officials, Competitors and MQ staff and as a result the Series Coordinator were very pleased with the outcome.

About 140 people came to the presentation dinner on Saturday to watch the juniors in their moment of glory, receiving their Top-3 trophies.

Our sponsors are very happy with the publicity and the interest they received in their product throughout the year.

Major contingencies came again throughout the year from Airoh, the Five Gloves program and helmet program, and we also had large contingency from Pirelli Tyres, States MX Wheels and TCX boots, who gave a pair away to a junior and a senior at the end of the series.

We had sizeable media coverage throughout the year with videos - a minimum of 15 minutes after each round - and we had over 3000 photos taken per round with our three photographers, as well as radio advertising and TV coverage.

First two rounds saw large numbers of spectators, as did the finale, which was the last major meeting to be held at Tivoli raceway.

I thank everyone for their support throughout the year - all the team workers, Race Secretary Rachelle Houterman who put in tireless hours of work, our series Clerks of Course and Stewards and all the clubs that were involved to make this possible. As Series Coordinator it makes me proud to have a series at the level we do, and one that is spoken of and regarded nationally.

Moto National as series naming rights sponsor with Airoh helmets, are once again very happy with the level the series has been lifted to, and can’t say enough about the sort of series, riders and racing that we are producing.

Looking forward to 2019!"
