Rockhampton Motocross Club has claimed its second Presidents Cup over Yeppoon after two days of racing action in the annual Reef 2 Beef Challenge.
Around 330 bikes turned up at the two tracks across the weekend for the 2019 Reef 2 Beef Interclub series. The two-day event is co-hosted by the Keppel Coast Dirt Bike Club and the Rockhampton club, and a total of about 330 bikes hit the Yeppoon and Rockhampton tracks on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Riders came from the likes of Moranbah, Emerald, Mackay and even the Gold Coast, and with two completely different tracks and big fields, the on-track action was fast and aggressive.
The Presidents from each club selected two riders from each club per race, with their points accumulating towards the prized Presidents Cup trophy.
RADMX took a healthy 223 point lead into Sunday’s racing. Yeppoon managed to claw their way back into contention throughout the day on their home track but came up just short of victory. The Rocky guys and girls have managed to hold onto the perpetual ‘Presidents Cup’ trophy for the second year in a row.
Club presidents Peter Dark and Paul Warr both agreed the friendly rivalry of Reef 2 Beef Interclub series has brought the two neighbouring clubs closer together.
