Ridernet is our new online licensing system where riders can now get a new licence/renew their licence.

If you are a new member, click 'Get A Licence'. If you are renewing your licence, click 'Renew My Licence'.

Alternatively, you can forward your manual application form and supporting documents to the office, using the links provided on the Rider Forms & Documents page. If you apply for a licence manually, please allow up to two weeks for this to get back to you.

Please note that any manual applications sent into the MQ office will be charged a $20 processing fee.

Ridernet is now the best way to apply for, and renew, your licence.

What you'll need for your first licence:

Mini / Recreational

Step 1:
Have proof of age ready.

Step 2:
Go online using Ridernet.

Junior National / Junior Restricted

Step 1:
Join a club.

Step 2:
Complete Kickstart program.

Step 3:
Have proof of age ready.

Step 4:
Go online using Ridernet.

Senior National / Senior Restricted

Step 1:
Join a club.

Step 2:
Complete a rider competency assessment if you do not have a road bike licence.

Step 3:
Have proof of age ready.

Step 4:
Go online using Ridernet.

Please note: Junior licence holders must be under 16 years of age as at 1 January to race as a Junior in calendar year. Once a a Junior Licence holder turns 16 years old, they may upgrade to a Senior Licence. Once a Senior Licence has been obtained they can no longer ride as a Junior.

Eligible licences for a family discount are the following annual licences:

Competition licences

Senior National
Junior National
Senior Restricted
Junior Restricted

Non-competition licences (Only a total of $25 can be discounted from these licences types)

Recreational
Mini

First licence application must pay full price.
Second licence application in a family will receive

$25 discount if a competition licence is applied for
$25 discount if a non-competition licence is applied for

Third licence application in a family will receive

$50 discount if a competition licence is applied for

$25 discount if a non-competition licence is applied for

Fourth licence application in a family will receive

$75 discount if a competition licence is applied for

$25 discount if a non-competition licence is applied for

Discounts will only be granted to family members who all appear on the same Australian Medicare Card (or similar to the satisfaction of the SCB), which must be provided with each application.
