Ace enduro official Tamara is the subject of today’s In-Focus article. Tamara has been doing valuable work helping keep enduro racing events organised in SEQ for the last few years, so we thought it was high time we fired our five questions at her.
1. In your officiating life, what track and in what role are we most likely to find you?
Officiating with Enduro I’m lucky enough to see a lot of different locations/tracks around south east QLD and occasionally across the NSW border (well at least the camp areas anyway, lol 🙂). I have been the race secretary on many occasions during the QORC & JEDS series. More recently I have been juggling two roles, race sec and now timing.
2. How long have you been an official and in what other capacities and/or locations have you acted?
Approximately 3 years, in roles including Race Starter, Race Secretary, Timing.
3. How did you come to find yourself officiating?
After attending a JEDS round with my son, I saw that volunteers were needed to keep the sport going. I wanted to be able to help in some capacity
4. What keeps you coming back?
The smiles on the junior riders faces after a cracking lap. My family and I have meet some great people who we now call friends. Oh, and the Turkish Delights riders give me to say thanks, because they know it’s my favourite chocolate!
5. Who is the most amazing rider you’ve encountered along the way?
I love all the Enduro family. Each and every rider is amazing in their own right.
