MQ advises that it is now seeking expressions of interest for motivated people considering joining an MQ subcommittee.
We are seeking subcommittee members for five major disciplines: road race, dirt track, speedway, trials and enduro.
To be a subcommittee member is to contribute to an apparatus whose goal is to manage and move the sport forward, and be responsible for assisting clubs, working with us and even working with national groups around national events.
These candidates should have knowledge of their chosen discipline, as well as an understanding of technical aspects that may effect that discipline.
We’re looking for people who can work with others, and being a team player is important, as you’ll be a part of a state wide team that’s part of a national team.
All Subcommittees generally meet 10-12 times per year and are responsible for:
• Overseeing and scheduling major Queensland series and events.
• Developing strategic plans to ensure the ongoing success of motorcycling in Queensland.
• Providing mentorship to volunteers, officials, clubs, and events.
• Representing the subcommittee at some events and gathering feedback from riders and participants.
• Handling tasks such as rider gradings, approving Supplementary Regulations, receiving event reports, and recommending rule changes to Motorcycling Australia.
Meetings are mostly held virtually, but at least one in-person meeting is required annually. This role follows the Motorcycling Queensland governance policy.
Please submit a 1-2 page application outlining your skills, experience, and how you can support the subcommittee’s mission to MQ’s Operations Manager – operations@mqld.org.au
