The feedback as more and more clubs try the Ride Parks Australia concept has been positive, and this post comes from Scenic Motorsports’ Shannon Wright
Our club on Sunday ran a Ride Parks Australia event at QLD Moto Park recently, and though the Covid restrictions limited our participants to 12 quads and 2 SxS Buggies, it never affected the atmosphere of the event.
The excitement of getting back out there was a relief to everyone who came, and Colin Stratford was there to capture our day and help promote the new Ride Parks Australia event to the general public.
The weather was great , we had a nice fresh prepped and watered track and we had our social distancing and Covid 19 measures in place.
We were joined buy club Members with their families, with kids riding as young from as 5yrs old.
The half day event drew nothing but positive reports, from the kids and the parents who now can not wait to do it again.
The biggest thing parents now appreciate from this new program is the opportunity to ride on track with their kids . Previously under a practice permit this was not possible unless it was coaching.
Here are some quotes from the event.
Josh: “Absolutely 💯 can’t wait till the next one. We got more ride time and it was alot more fun watching the kids push to keep up with the older riders and in some cases pass them lol.”
(Junior) Bailey: “Absolutely loved being back out there.. thanks to all involved 👏🔥”
Braith’s Mum Kristie: “He loved riding with everyone instead of just his age class – especially his brother 😉 ”
Braith’s dad Mark: “I feel it helps them deal with the pressure of other bikes around them, in a non-competitive atmosphere.”
SXS owner Steven: “I had an absolute ball. I would do that again and again”
From our clubs point of view, we want to pursue this further and run all our social events under Ride Parks Australia.
Congratulations Motorcycling Australia and Motorcycling Queensland for coming up with this great program.
With thanks to Shannon Wright and Colin Stratford.
