Congratulations and welcome to new Motocross Subcommittee and Enduro Subcommittee members Alison Hooker and Kellie Burke (MX) and Angela Frazer, Benjamin Vandenbroek, Gary Brownrigg (returning) and Emalee Cox (Enduro).
On the MX subcommittee, Alison Hooker and Kellie Burke will replace Kelly Baxter who stands down after impressive and valuable terms of service. Both newcomers come with significant experience with the sport as parents, coaches, an in a growing list of race day roles and they join Frank Tate, Kevin Mortimer, Julie Newsome and Tamara Grothues on the committee.
On the Queensland Enduro Subcommittee, returning member Gary Brown Rigg is joined by an eclectic and skilful trio, including Benjamin Vandenbroek, with a background in project management, and in the process of acquiring Level 2 Clerk of Course and Level 1 Coach to further support riders, officials, and events at a higher level.
Emalee Cox is a former competitor and parent to a son competing in the QORC, JEDS and AORC in recent years with a background in scheduling and event management, and an investment in youth development.
Angela Frazer is an enduro coach currently working towards Level 2 certification, with skills and interests in event promotion, project management, women’s participation and external stakeholder engagement.
The new-look QESC’s first port of call will be to assess options and opportunities around 2024 events including the season presentation, which is locked in for October 29, before turning its attention to a bigger and brighter season 2025.
