Position Available: Operations Assistant
Motorcycling Queensland (MQ), the state controlling body for motorcycle sport and recreation, is seeking an Operations Assistant to work as part of our Queensland Moto Park (QMP) operations team.
About QMP:
QMP is a 745 hectare Off Road motorcycle facility located at Coulson, near Boonah in the Scenic Rim LGA.
The venue consists of 8 motocross tracks, 75kms of trail networks, coaching areas, camping and parking areas, the Moto Café, general amenities and the QMP office. More information available from www.qldmotopark.com.au.
The Park operates 5 days / week (Thursday – Monday) and every day during school holidays (with the exception of some public holidays).
Whilst QMP was specifically developed to cater for recreational off road motorcycle enthusiasts, it also hosts a number of competition events and activities.
QMP is managed by a small, dedicated, hard-working group of employees.
About the Role:
We are seeking an Operations Assistant to play a key role in supporting the QMP Manager and helping to deliver an excellent customer experience for the 25,000+ riders that use QMP annually.
The role is a hands on, front of house position requiring skills across a number of areas including, but not limited to: customer service, staff management, marketing and promotion, event and venue management and some basic account keeping.
Whilst the role is predominantly ‘administrative’, a preparedness to occasionally ‘get your hands dirty’ is required.
The role is a permanent part time position (up to 35 hours / week).
QMP offers a flexible working arrangement for the right applicant.
Preparedness to undertake weekend work (at least one Saturday per month, occasionally more).
About the successful candidate:
Skills, knowledge, experience and / or qualifications in the sports and or events industry, whilst not essential, would be advantageous.
Ability to work as part of a small team and autonomously is essential.
First Aid qualifications and a Working With Children check Blue Card, or ability to obtain.
Preparedness to undertake some training to obtain relevant accreditations to function in the role (eg Trail Boss).
Solutions focussed.
Whilst not essential, knowledge of the motorcycling industry would be advantageous.
Remuneration according to skills and ability up to $54,000 + superannuation.
