About Motorcycling Queensland
Formed in 1924, Motorcycling Queensland is the state governing body for motorcycle sport and recreation. Our mission is to advance motorcycling, providing leadership and opportunities for all members. MQ is an affiliated member of Motorcycling Australia (MA), and we operate consistently with MA policies and rules.
Key Responsibilities of the MQ Board
- Setting goals and strategic direction for MQ
- Establishing committees and subcommittees
- Ensuring financial viability and legal compliance
- Promoting governance best practices and ensuring alignment with MQ’s constitution and the Corporations Act
Key Skills & Selection Criteria
We are looking for candidates with demonstrated skills in at least one of the following areas:
- Political or government relations
- Motorcycle/automotive industry insight
- Marketing, sponsorship, or commercial acumen
General skills in governance, leadership, communication, financial management, and risk management are also highly desirable.
Commitment
- 3-year term from the date of appointment (to May 2027)
- Participation in approximately 12 Board meetings per year (in-person or virtually)
- Attendance at MQ events, including the AGM, zone meetings, and Awards Night
