The Queensland MX subcommittee is thrilled to announce the return of Honda as the naming sponsor for its new look Sunshine State MX Championships, which will kick off in February 2025.
The popular series will be back brighter than ever next time round, having incorporated the Queensland Motocross Championship into its new 6-round format.
“Honda is thrilled to continue our partnership with the premier motocross event in Queensland, the Sunshine State MX Championships, for 2025,” said Zone Sales Manager Robert Pollard. “This collaboration reinforces Honda’s commitment to supporting the motocross community and celebrating the passion, skill, and excitement that defines this incredible sport. We can’t wait to be part of the action once again and look forward to another unforgettable year with the Sunshine State MX team and all the amazing competitors that make this event shine.
The MX Subcommittee’s Tamara Grothues said the level of interest in the 2025 series has been staggering.
“It’s the first time ever for this new Queensland Championship format which also contains both senior Women’s and Vets categories,” said Tamara, “and the phone has not stopped ringing.”
The subcommittee has all the dates locked in and the host clubs decided but is still finalising the locations – with one exception.
“One exciting teaser I can drop is that we’ll be going back to Kilcoy for Round 1 on February 22/23, where we haven’t been for many years.
“The Honda Sunshine State MX Championships is the biggest series in Queensland and we’re hoping it will get even bigger and better.”
